The practice sits at the intersection of public finance law, international trade and investment, and the frameworks that govern state support for the economy. Andreas Klasen counsels public financial institutions and the governments that stand behind them on the design, mandate, and governance of export, investment, climate and development finance – as well as on trade and investment policy and the international rules that apply to officially supported finance, including the OECD Arrangement, WTO subsidy disciplines, and EU frameworks for financial instruments.

Dr. Klasen advises with the perspective of a principal. From 2010 to 2015 he served as Managing Director of the official export credit agency of the Federal Republic of Germany, and as a Partner at PwC; earlier he led guarantees and export finance at Airbus Group (formerly EADS). He has since advised finance ministries, export credit agencies, and development and multilateral banks in more than 25 countries.
